How to Get Festive Without Having to Splurge

With the holidays coming up, we all have a long list of people to shop for. Whether it’s the new power drill your dad wants, the blender your mom’s been dying for or the endless list of items your sister wants from Aritzia, and don’t get me started on all the Secret Santa swaps we’ve joined.

Point blank: we’re about to be really broke.

So, how are we going to afford to dress up for all of these upcoming holiday parties?

Make your own ugly Christmas sweater
Instead of paying $50 for an ugly sweater, grab a plain old sweater and add some bells, pompoms or velvet pieces. I’ll be honest with you, I’m not crafty whatsoever so, here are some DIY videos by some of my favourite Youtubers.

And if all else fails, try some red lipstick.
